The United States Institute of Theatre Technology University of Las Vegas, Nevada Student Chapter (USITT@UNLV) needs your support to send us to the USITT National Conference, held in Fort Lauderdale, Florida for one week!
Who are we?
USITT@UNLV is a technician club for all undergrad and graduate students wanting to be a part of USITT and pursue a career in the technical side in the entertainment industry. We hold learning seminars, workshops, and have guest speakers talk with us monthly. Each year, we organize events to allow students to expand their portfolio as well for the more experienced students to take on mentor roles to the new students in the field.
And what about the conference?
USITT is an organization that promotes communication, research, and learning among those working in theatre, technology, and live entertainment. Each year, USITT holds a national conference with over 300 exhibiting companies as a learning and networking opportunity. This serves as a great opportunity for our members to experience new technologies in our specific field of study, ranging from sound, rigging, costuming, scenery design and more. Most importantly, this conference serves as a great networking opportunity. We will meet experts in the entertainment industry, thus building connections and learning from the best. Many companies accept resumes and a few even hold interviews on the spot, thus giving our members an ideal career path.
Over 80 universities see value in this conference and send their students annually. UNLV wants to join them, but it needs your help.
As current students, most of our members will not be able to attend without the help of our generous supporters. This is where you come in! Our goal is to cover the estimated airfare for all of our members. Of course, we are hoping to exceed our goals and help cover other aspects of the trip. Our gift levels reflect the estimated breakdown of each cost. On behalf of all of our members, thank you for your support.
