The UNLV International Business Association is a non-profit student-led organization that serves to enhance and complement the international business major. Our core mission is to provide students opportunities to make connections, get cultured, invest in community, and grow their career.
We pursue our mission through a variety of ways. By hosting networking and guest speaker events, we encourage students to engage with and learn from executives with international expertise. Our professional development workshops, internship, and site tour opportunities help students develop skills that will be useful in the workplace and expose them to the international business community in Las Vegas. We also invest in community through our High School Outreach Project where we host info sessions to give high school students practical advice on college and inform them about the resources that are available. Through this project we promote the UNLV Lee Business School, the International Business Major, and UNLV International Programs.
We would like to create a more immersive learning experience for students by traveling to Washington D.C. to network with business professionals and see first-hand historical and international institutions have helped shape this country. This includes touring the International Trade Center, Georgetown University, the Capitol and the Library of Congress. We are also meeting with U.S. International Trade Administration representatives where they show us the 3 departments in their office, a meeting with the Director & Associate of Governor of Nevada D.C. office, meeting with Nevada representatives and RESULTS (a non-profit organization) to advocate for funding for international development programs, and a few cultural excursions including Penn Square, Smithsonian Museum, and the Japanese Cherry Blossom Festival.
HOW YOU CAN PARTNER
UNLV IBA is seeking your help in making this life eye-opening experience possible. Your support would allow students to learn how organizations participate in global markets, which would prepare them to succeed in organizations with global operations – making them more marketable to employers when they graduate.
All donations are tax-deductible as allowed by law.
