We're Dancing our Souls - to Seoul, South Korea, and We Need Your Help to get there - LITERALLY! Eighteen UNLV Dance Majors have been invited to participate in a ten-day cultural performance exchange in Seoul, South Korea. These are exciting activities for our dancers and opportunities for them to share their expertise on an international stage! In 2006, the UNLV Department of Dance developed a partnership with the prestigious Korea National Sport University.
In the past 10 years, close to 100 UNLV dance majors have had the opportunity to travel to Korea, experience the rich cultural dance and art heritage, and represent UNLV by sharing their knowledge, talents, and artistry. This opportunity allows the majors to travel as professional dancers and experience touring, performing, and training alongside other professionals.
Five of these dance majors will be staying in Korea for an eight-week residency. This trip is a rare opportunity for students to combine their study with international travel, touring, and functioning as an artist in the global world.
Many thanks for helping our dancers. All donations are tax-deductible as allowed by law (the value of certain benefits may be subtracted from the gift total).

Entertainment industry employment and artistic opportunities abound in Las Vegas. Advanced-level dancers are working professionally while completing their dance degrees.
The College of Fine Arts houses the Department of Dance. Eight full-time professional dance faculty, a rotating guest artist-in-residence dance position, and several part-time dance specialists compose the dance faculty. The department offers a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in Performance/Choreography or a Bachelor of Arts in Dance Production as well as a Minor in Dance, a Minor in Pilates, and Certificate in Pilates.
A unique feature of the program allows students to train with equal emphasis in ballet, modern, and jazz dance technique, as well as other areas of dance. A wide variety of courses in Pilates, improvisation, composition, choreography, music theory, production, history and aesthetics, kinesiology, and injury prevention are required offerings for serious study of dance.
