NATA Clinical Symposia 2019

July 03, 2019

Last week, the National Athletic Trainers' Association held the 70th Clinical Symposia right here in Las Vegas and we were able to send over twenty of our students to attend! This was made entirely possible by those who donated to our fundraiser. Because of you, our members were able to attend hands-on lab sessions, listen to educational lectures, and meet other students and professionals dedicated to the athletic training profession. We are incredibly grateful and thankful for this opportunity, and hope to be able to continue what was started this year by sending even more students to conferences in the future. Again, thank you for your donations. As you can see, it truly does make a wonderful impact on our students!

A huge CONGRATULATIONS to Jose Bautista for receiving R.A.T.S. first ever scholarship!! I want to thank our donors for helping make this possible because of you we can continue to support our students as they pursue higher education. Jose Bautista will be attending graduate school at Seattle University for his Master's in Sport Business and Leadership this Fall 2019. We wish him the best in his endeavors and hope he continues on succeeding.

Far West Athletic Trainers Association Clinical Symposium April 25-28

April 29, 2019

This past weekend our amazing students had the opportunity to go to San Diego for the Far West Athletic Trainers Association Clinical Symposium (F.W.A.T.A.). This was a great opportunity for our students to network with other professionals and learn what is new in the field. We also had some students win some prizes the last day of the convention. Finally, our very own Clinical Coordinator Michelle Samuel received a special recognition award.

This was all possible through funding our President Jose Bautista and Vice President Ulises Sanchez applied for and we are thankful for their hard work.

April 13th Animal Foundation Volunteer

April 24, 2019

On April 13th our amazing R.A.T.S. members volunteered at the Animal Foundation. We helped clean the facility and make it more welcoming for families to come adopt their new family members. When we finished volunteering two of our very own members added a new member to their family. It was a successful volunteer event to help with cleaning the facility and giving a pet a loving home.

KIN 371- Clinical Experiences in Athletic Training

April 17, 2019

While in the athletic training program we have classes that reinforce the clinical application to what we learn in lecture. Here our juniors are practicing their hands on skills on lower extremity special tests such as Piriformis Syndrome test. Piriformis Syndrome can cause spasms or bio-mechanical changes in the hip, pelvis or sacrum due to hypertrophy.

These classes give the tools our students need to become amazing future Athletic Trainers.

Rock n Roll Marathon 2018

April 08, 2019

Working at the medical tent for the Rock n Roll marathon are some of our outside extracurricular clinical experiences our members get to engage in. Here our volunteers provided the runners with comfort care, first aid treatment, minor wound care and evaluated injuries.

March National Athletic Training Month 2019

March 19, 2019

Our RATS members in March made an amazing video showing some of the Athletic Trainers in the community that have impacted our lives. March is reserved for Athletic Training and we use it as a platform to educate the public on what our health care profession does.
