What is DECA?
Collegiate DECA is a student organization whose mission is to prepare emerging leaders and entrepreneurs in marketing, finance, hospitality, and management in colleges and universities from around the world. For the past seven years, UNLV DECA has been an organization that is open to all majors, geared towards building business and leadership skills that can be applicable to their respective fields.
Each year, over 1,500 Collegiate DECA members from around the globe gather at the International Career Development Conference (ICDC) where students are given the opportunity to integrate their knowledge and skills they gained from the classroom into real world experiences. This year the conference is held in Orlando, Florida, where students all across the globe will gather in hopes of bringing home the title of International Champion and learn new industry standards..
Since 2014, UNLV DECA has brought home 31 finalists medals and 7 International Champion plaques from the conference. We hope to instill the spirit of competition and achieve recognition at an international level as well as continue our sole representation of Nevada.
Beyond competition, UNLV DECA focuses on developing leaders and changemakers within the Las Vegas community. Members of UNLV DECA come from diverse backgrounds ranging from Computer Science, Business, Hospitality and Tourism, and Sciences.
This fundraising campaign will give 11 UNLV undergraduate business students the opportunity to compete on an international level in various fields of business, including Accounting, Business Ethics, Emerging Technologies, and many more. With your help, we can help send these students to Orlando, Florida, who have trained for months to conquer the competition at ICDC, where they will be able to gain the opportunity to showcase their skills and continue to represent Nevada.
All donations make a difference and we thank you for giving our members the chance to broaden their perspectives regarding their industries and to experience real-world situations.
