Rebel Raiser is the official crowdfunding platform of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. It is a way to help student groups, faculty, researchers, and athletes raise funds for their projects and initiatives and a way for community members to become involved with the many exciting things happening at UNLV. It encourages a community of philanthropy both on campus and beyond!

Rebel Raiser projects advance innovation, teaching and learning at the university by student groups, faculty, departments and athletes, and allow us to showcase fearless ideas from across campus. Rebel Raiser is also a way to encourage a community of philanthropy on campus and beyond!
What is Crowdfunding?
Crowdfunding is a type of on line giving that harnesses the power of the community through many smaller gifts as opposed to singular major gifts.

Who is eligible to use Rebel Raiser?
Rebel Raiser is open to all faculty, students and staff at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas who are raising money for University-based and affiliated initiatives and projects.
What kinds of projects are appropriate for Rebel Raiser?
Anyone on campus can use Rebel Raiser, provided that they are either officially affiliated with an academic unit or recognized as a university student group. Rebel Raiser welcomes participation by faculty, staff and student teams with at least six members. The best crowdfunding projects have a specific deadline that creates a sense of urgency to encourage donations during the period during which a project is live (usually 30 days). What is an appropriate funding goal for projects?
Rebel Raiser recommends a fundraising goal of between $2,500 and $10,000. We will consider each project's goal on a case-by-case basis.
How do groups access the funds they raise?
All projects will keep any funds raised even if the goal isn’t achieved. Funds will be deposited in University of Nevada, Las Vegas Foundation accounts and then transferred to the appropriate University account. Rebel Raiser staff will work with project team leaders to establish appropriate accounts and to make sure a proper University disbursement authority is in place.
Will my RebelRaiser project gift be tax-deductible?
Contributions to Rebel Raiser projects support specific areas of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and are tax-deductible as allowed by law. All donors will receive a gift receipt from the UNLV Foundation via mail.
Is there a fee to give on Rebel Raiser?
There are no added fees for donors who give through Rebel Raiser. However, a gift re-investment fund contribution of two percent is assessed on all gifts to UNLV. The gift re-investment is divided between the UNLV Foundation (1%) and the unit(s) (1%) to which the gift is directed.
Is my payment secure?
Absolutely. All transactions through Rebel Raiser are compliant with current Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards.
Can I send a Rebel Raiser gift by mail or phone?
No. All gifts to Rebel Raiser projects should be submitted online, unless you are able to make direct arrangements with the project leaders. To make a gift to UNLV, separate from a Rebel Raiser project, please visit http://www.unlv.edu/foundation/give-online, call 702-895-2820 or mail a check to:
