Rebel Raiser is the official crowdfunding platform of UNLV. It is a way to help student groups, faculty, staff, and alumni chapter and clubs to raise funds for their projects and initiatives and a way for community members to become involved with the many exciting things happening at UNLV. It also encourages a community of philanthropy on campus and beyond!
Who is eligible to use Rebel Raiser?
Rebel Raiser is open to faculty, students and staff at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas who are raising money for university based or affiliated initiatives and projects. Academic projects must be approved through an affiliated department or college. Alternatively, student groups who have received Registered Student Organization (RSO) status through UNLV's Student Involvement and Activities department are also eligible to apply to use Rebel Raiser.

Rebel Raiser is the official crowdfunding platform of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Rebel Raiser projects advance innovation, teaching and learning at the university by student groups, faculty, departments and athletes. It also allows us to showcase fearless new ideas from across campus! Rebel Raiser is a great way to encourage a community of philanthropy on campus and beyond.
What is Crowdfunding?
Crowdfunding is a type of online giving that harnesses the power of the community through many small gifts as opposed to individual large gifts.

What kinds of projects are appropriate for Rebel Raiser?
Groups officially affiliated with an academic unit or recognized as a Registered Student Organization seeking funds for specific university projects are eligible to use Rebel Raiser pending application review and final project approval by the UNLV Foundation. Projects must be in accordance with the mission and values of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, must directly support the university, and cannot be used to raise funds as a “pass-through” to other charities or third-party. The best crowdfunding projects are powered by groups of at least 5-10 members, and have a specific, compelling goal along with an urgent deadline. What is an appropriate funding goal for projects?
Rebel Raiser recommends a fundraising goal of between $2,500 and $10,000. We will consider each project's goal on a case-by-case basis, but goals above $10,000 will require special consultation and approval by the UNLV Foundation.
How do groups access the funds they raise?
All projects will keep any funds raised even if the goal isn’t achieved. Funds will be deposited in University of Nevada, Las Vegas Foundation accounts and then transferred to the appropriate university account. The Rebel Raiser team will work with project leaders to review appropriate accounts and make sure a proper university disbursement authority is in place.
Will my Rebel Raiser project gift be tax deductible?
Contributions to Rebel Raiser projects support specific areas of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) and are tax deductible as allowed by law. All donors will receive a gift receipt from the UNLV Foundation via mail.
Is there a fee to give on Rebel Raiser?
There are no added fees for donors who give through Rebel Raiser. However, a gift re-investment fund contribution of five percent (5%) is assessed on all gifts to UNLV.
Is my payment secure?
All transactions through Rebel Raiser are compliant with current Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards.
Can I send a Rebel Raiser gift by mail or phone?
All gifts to Rebel Raiser projects should be submitted online, unless you are able to make direct arrangements with the project leaders. To make a gift to UNLV, separate from a Rebel Raiser project, please visit the UNLV Foundation website, call (702) 895-3641, or mail a check to:
